Rosie also delivers yoga in workplaces as part of her workplace wellbeing packages
Rosie's classes combine mindfulness and positive psychology with restorative, yin, and hatha styles of yoga. These classes are designed to help you create calmness and master your mindset. The yoga practice is slow and poses are held slightly longer than usual so that there is lots of space to focus on the breath and the mind in each posture. Rosie integrates meditation, mindfulness, yoga nidra and pranayama into her classes and her students leave feeling calm and at peace. She also provide private 1-2-1 sessions at The Yoga Tree for those wanting to begin a yoga and mindfulness practice but not knowing where to start.
For Rosie, yoga is about coming home to yourself, finding a deep state of inner-calm and accepting yourself, physically and mentally, as you are in the present moment. She believes yoga should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age, physical ability, gender. Rosie's classes are particularly good for the self-professed 'inflexible' yogis, total beginners, and also those suffering from depression and anxiety.
My 200hrs yoga teacher training was Sivananda style Hatha yoga in Kerala (India), however my personal practice was very much restorative and yin based which I practiced for 8 years before doing my teacher training. I spent time living at an ashram in Gokarna (India) learning yoga nidra teaching techniques and deep states of meditation. I studied yin yoga with Norman Blair in London and deepened my practice to slow styles of yoga using Chinese meridian theory.
I have a background in secondary school education and I completed my 60 hour Teen Yoga and Mindfulness teacher training in February 2018 with the wonderful Charlotta Martinus, who I continue to work with through my project work with the Teen Yoga Foundation.
I have had my own meditation and mindfulness practice for several years now and for me it is the most important part of yoga. I completed 2 8-week mindfulness courses with Norwich Mind, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Self-Compassion which influences my yoga classes.
